Maya Angelou & Ruby Dee

Maya Angelou was an African-American author, poet, dancer, actress and singer. She published seven autobiographies, three books of essays, and several books of poetry, and was credited with a list of plays, movies, and television shows spanning more than 50 years. Maya received dozens of awards and over fifty honorary degrees. 
Maya Angelou died on the morning of May 28, 2014 at her home Salem, NC

Legendary Actress Ruby Dee died on June 11, 2014 at her home New Rochelle,  NY

Ruby Dee was an American actress, poet, playwright, screenwriter, journalist andactivist. She is best known for co-starring in the films A Raisin in the Sun(1961), Do the Right Thing (1989), and American Gangster (2007) for which she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Ruby Dee was the recipient of numerous awards Grammy, Emmy, Obie, Drama Desk, Screen Actors Guild Award, and Screen Actors GuildLifetime Achievement Awards as well as the National Medal of Arts and the Kennedy Center Honors. She was married to actor Ossie Davis until his death in 2005.

Ruby Dee will be cremated, and her ashes will be held in the same urn as that of Davis, with the inscription "In this thing together".
