RIP Whitney Houston 1 Year Later
Wow! Can't believe; a year ago today.
"We lost an Icon, A Legend Whitney Houston aka Nippy"
Whitney, you'll will always; have a special spot in our hearts.
Gone, yet never forgotten....
A year after Whitney Houston's death, music executive Clive Davis remembered her in words and video.
Whitney died last year just hours before the annual Clive Davis Gala was to start.
On Saturday, Davis said his world continues "to be so shattered by her passing" and that Houston's death still feels "unreal." Then Davis played what he called a rare performance of Houston belting "All The Man That I Need" at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Whitney's brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Pat Houston, attended the gala, where Davis thanked them "for being here tonight." He also called Houston the "greatest, greatest singer of our lifetime."
This week, the wax museum "Madame Tussauds" unveiled four statues of Whitney Houston, a first in the museum’s history. While all four were made in the London studio, they will be spread throughout the United States. Washington D.C. will display the National Anthem statue; Vegas will own the “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and Los Angeles will showcase “The Bodyguard.” Yesterday, New York City received one of Whitney’s last looks—a gold gown from a 2009 photo shoot.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Houston Family.
